All-Weather Sports Pitch
Carpet Time have recently been involved in creating a new, all-weather sports pitch for a school in Stockton-on-Tees.
The pitch, at Green Lane School, was constructed using the Safe Play outdoor carpet system. This is ideal for almost any location.
A team of suppliers co-operated to create the bespoke sports area. After a level foundation of dolomite was laid, a 15mm thick under-layer of Matchpad 2250 was fitted. And with a finishing cover of Safe Play 'Champion' outdoor carpet the surface was ready for line marking.
PE curriculum leader, Simon Albeson, said the new pitch was a real benefit to the school - and thanked everyone involved for their support.
"It makes a massive difference," he said. "It's used all the time."
Money for the £80,000 project was raised by the pupils, teachers and parents along with some spare funds from the school's recent general refurbishment.
